Both ChoiceCare and AdvantageCare Essential (MEC Plus!) have networks. What this means is that in order to receive outpatient benefits (doctor, specialist, urgent care, labs, x-rays, i.e. routine, nonsurgical outpatient services) you must go to a doctor or facility which has is part of the network. ChoiceCare Basic and ChoiceCare Premium both use the First Health network, AdvantageCare utilizes PHCS. Both are nationwide, so you can receive routine, outpatient care no matter where in the contiguous 48 states you are.
If you choose to upgrade with a Zion Health membership, you are free to choose any hospital or inpatient facility. In fact, Zion will provide financial support to you for expenses incurred overseas, in accordance with their membership guidelines and your membership.
